v2026.07.1
Released 2026-07-26.
Features
Section titled “Features”- Run your own apps on your minion. Build an internal tool, run it on your own minion, and share it with the workspaces you choose. Teammates open it in the browser through an authenticated proxy — they never touch the minion’s shell or token. The runtime assigns a port, keeps the app alive across crashes and reboots, and restores it after a restart. Experimental: turn on the Apps tab in your account’s experimental features.
- Browse and install official apps from a catalog. A new Apps section lists first-party apps with a detail page for each — what it does, who made it, the permissions it asks for, its release history, and a full README — and installs it to a minion you pick. Experimental: a workspace admin turns it on.
- Minion Video Studio. A browser-based non-linear video editor, shipping as the first official app. Import footage, cut and arrange it on a timeline, burn in text, and export — all running on your own minion, with no upload to a third-party service.
- Minion Media Home. A personal media library as an official app: read your ebook collection in the browser, play retro game ROMs, and upload and organize files on your minion’s storage. The runtime installs and supervises the Kavita backend for you — no Docker, no root, no manual setup — and new books are picked up automatically after upload instead of waiting for a daily scan. Uploads are quarantined, checked against an allowlist, and optionally scanned for malware before they land in your library.
- Give your minion a brain without handing it an API key. Managed minions can now reach Anthropic through an opt-in HQ proxy, so no per-minion API key is needed. If you’d rather use your own key, HQ can front it — the key stays on HQ and is never exposed to the minion. The redesigned Brain tab lets you browse available engines, connect them, set a fallback priority order, and verify that each one actually works.
- A guided start for new accounts. Signing up now opens an animated six-slide walk-through of what minions, projects, workflows, notes, and threads actually do, followed by a Getting Started checklist on the dashboard that tracks your progress to a first real result and disappears once you’re done (or when you dismiss it).
- Color and highlight text in notes. Apply a text color or a highlight to any selection from the bubble menu on desktop or the toolbar on mobile. Colors survive publishing, so shared notes look the same to readers.
- Collapsible sections in notes. Fold long procedures or side details behind
a toggle, from the toolbar button or the
/Collapsibleslash command. Whether a section starts open is saved with the note, and tables, lists, images, and nested sections keep working inside it.
Improvements
Section titled “Improvements”- Update installed apps in place. The minion’s Apps tab now shows when a newer version of an installed app is available and updates it with one click, restarting the process for you.
- New personal to-dos land at the top of the list. Quick notes now appear where you’re already looking instead of at the bottom, and you can still drag them anywhere afterwards.
- Long acceptance criteria are readable again. Criteria on board tickets now wrap onto multiple lines instead of scrolling sideways inside a one-line field.
